I Keep getting “Secure your account” page when signing in to email

I sign into my xfinity email from browser Firefox. Always. Never a problem, for many years now.

I am now continually getting a “Secure your Account” page. When this comes up I just hit Ask me later.  My phone number is already on this page.

It asks me to add another email, but all I have is comcast emails.  I don’t have an outside party email.   Can Xfinity stop this?  This seems to happen once a year or so.

I can’t one day go on and be locked out of my email.

Please inform, Thanks

You have my phone number, you can send me a text. I am not setting up a third party email.

Make the Secure Your Account  screen go away.

@ben345 I have the same issues due to not placing a cell phone on file, but we do have an alternate email on file, after about 3-5 days it will stop asking, but be prepared for it to start again in a month or two.

Hello. Thank you for reaching out about your email. I can understand not wanting to have additional steps, however we take your account secuirty very serious. Please follow the these steps, to set up the multifactor authentication. You may need to register for a new personal email if you do not already have one. Once you have this set up these steps will walk you through how to disable the multifactor if you wish to no longer use it.

@XfinityBrandon I have a alternate email on file, but what of those of us who don't use cell phones? I was on-call support years ago for a 24x7x365 operation for a few years, so I don't care to be 100% reachable anymore, and any cellphone that gets on file, your tech support and billing system tries to force all contact through chat

Thank you for providing your feedback on our Community Forums page, @gwtx!! For customers that do not wish to be contacted by mobile number are absolutely free not to share with us. For those that would prefer to speak with someone instead of messaging, you can still always call 800-XFINITY for all your Comast service needs. -Macey

I do not have the app and do not want it. I am an old person, and sign into xfinity from a browser.   I have two comcast.net emails. One I rarely use.  Before they said I couldn’t use another comcast email.

Why am I all of a sudden getting the “Secure your account” screen?

I can definitely understand that you want to only use one email account. We recommend adding a secondary third-party email to the account as a security measure in case something were to happen that you are not able to access the account or email. If something were to go wrong and you lose access to the Comcast email, another email may be required in order to reset the password or security codes.

I do apologize as we do not have a way to remove that as it is a security measure set by the account and website. The notification will continue to pop up, however, you are more than welcome to ignore it if you like. We do not have a way to remove the notification on our end as this is setup for security purposes on the account for additional security.
