I have too many dead emails and need to delete many by batch deleting - how? - but not select all.
I have too many emails and need to delete many by batch deleting. I can sort on them and get them grouped by sender, subject, etc. I would like to select all of the emails from "Joe", but I cannot select all of Joe's emails without clicking on each email. Is there a method to -
1) group and then select all emails from Joe,
2) select the first email from Joe and the last email from Joe in a list and have the application select all the emails between the first and last ones selected,
My experience using the email sort function only allows -
a) Delete All or
b) only allows the user to select the emails one-at-a-time
c) allows the user to declare the email app "User Unfriendly"

The suggestion that required me to us a computer, not use an iPhone or iPad pushed me into my computer to solve the problem. This is one of those many processes that can be done on a computer and NOT doable in a smartphone or tablet.
On the computer, one can
1. Sort the list by “Sender”
2. Scroll down to the first listing of the sender’s email
3. Click on the first email an a check will appear to the left of that email
4. Scroll down and visually locate the last email of the sender
5. Hold down the “Shift Key”
6. Click on the last email listing - all emails between the first and last email will become highlighted
7. Click on the “Trash can” icon near the top of the page or hit the “Delete” key
Thanks for the help

Thanks for the suggestion, but ...
On my iphone and iPad the "Select All " only appears at the top of the list when the list is in the full, not searched, complete mode. Once I perform a "Search" the "Select All" function disappears from the top of the list. At that point, only the "Edit" option/tool appears at the bottom of the list. Clicking on "Edit" option only allows me to select individual emails by clicking on the radio button in front of each email. There is no "Select All" option.
hmm........

Run your search, and when the emails come up, click on "All" on top of the list, then select "Delete all messages".
