HOW TO STOP Getting many emails from Xfinity for Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP)

Recently I have received many emails from Xfinity ( [Edited: "Personal Information"]nity.com) about the Affordable Connectivity Program. Just today I received two duplicate emails - one to the main email address on my Xfinity account, and the other to my Xfinity email address.

In looking at this program, I can tell my household does not qualify. That's fine, I'm not concerned about that. However, Xfinity keeps sending these emails to me. To date I've received at least 4 different emails on the same topic, as well as several snail mail letters to my physical address.

There is no "Opt Out" or "Unsubscribe" link in these emails. I also checked my Xfinity account settings and can't find where to turn off these emails. I don't want to block all emails from Xfinity, I just need these ACP emails to stop.

I welcome any recommendations you can provide.

Hello @LiveYourDreams, thank you for reaching out to us. There is no way to stop a specific add from being sent to you but you can manage your email alert preferences by clicking on https://comca.st/3z3sOQl and following the simple and easy onscreen steps. Does this help you?

@XfinityXavier Thanks for your response, even though it doesn't solve my problem. I have already turned off all marketing emails from Xfinity.

It seems to me that it would be in Xfinity's interest not to spam customers with the same email content 4 (or more) times. If I only received the email a couple times I wouldn't have turned off all marketing emails. Oh well, it's Xfinity's loss in the long term.

Received another 2 emails from Xfinity about ACP today. So even turning off ALL marketing emails didn't fix it. SHAME ON YOU Xfinity for spamming customers with no way to stop it.

@XfinityRoberto I have also received these, multiple times. I also do not qualify. This email is more than just an ad! It offers something that you must be qualified to take advantage of. With this in mind, please behave like every other valid company. Provide an UNSUBSCRIBE to be taken off of an offer that you cannot possibly take advantage of!

I too receive this multiple times every week and do not qualify.  According to the FCC and the Can-Spam act all companies are required to provide an unsubscribe option to all customers and potential customers to stop being spammed.  Please stop doing this or I will report you.

If you log into webmail, you can create a folder on the left side frame.  Call it Xfinity_Spam.  Then select one of the messages, and click the move button.  There's an option to create a spam filter for it and it will move em all into the folder.

You could move em to trash too I suppose :D

Unacceptable, especially when they have decided to also start spamming ACP text messages from the same number as payment notifications etc. It is not the customer's responsibility to have to deal with their spam apart from clicking an unsubscribe link (which is not provided).

Unacceptable answer, follow the regulations set forth by the fcc or we will report you and run up the fines.

@user_9124fb  A Truth?

When you click on the unsubscribe link on email, what you have done is confirm your address to every spam list on the planet.  It's not going to be helpful in any situation.  Now all they need to do is guess your password.

I'd strongly recommend sending spam to a black hole, instead of responding in any way.  The link itself can be an attack vector, especially if you use windows.

Never use ANY link in any email.  Instead, locate who you want to contact directly via the front door on the company's web site.  Don't use the "special offer" link.  99% of them are phishing attempts.  So is the unsubscribe link.

Depends entirely on the email. Unsubscribe links from legitimate companies do exactly what they are supposed to, which is what I'm referring to. Malicious spam and other unsolicited junk from companies you do not do business with are beside the point here, this is comcast (a known entity you have a business relationship with) deliberately refusing to provide a means to opt out - which they are obligated to offer by law.

@user_f7cb63 The problem is that scammers can make really good authentic looking email.  You can fool even very knowledgeable people with them.

This is a really common practice.  They're breaking the law in the first place, and they don't care about other law.  They also commonly use hijacked cloud server virtual machines, as well as compromised personal computers, and use them for spam zombies.

Clicking email links can turn you into one as well.  It's a bad habit to get into.

Hey, @user_9124fb I would love to look into this further.

Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

See  https://comca.st/3KQF8q9r fo an example.

I no longer work for Comcast.

I too have been getting multiple (10+ now) ACP emails (and now unsolicited text messages too - from the same number as payment notifications, so I cannot just do the usual 'STOP' reply), with no way to unsubscribe. As noted by another user this is a violation of the CAN-SPAM act and will be reported as such. Customer (chat) service seems unwilling or unable to unsubscribe me, and just passed me off by giving me the number to sign up for this service.

They are NOT service related messages, because they do not pertain to my service because of eligibility requirements.

What grates on me most is the cheesy "Hey, do you know about" tone of these messages. YES, I KNOW, and NO, I CAN'T SIGN UP, SO STOP SPAMMING ME.
