How to get email working again

I have used Outlook for over 5 years. Just last week, Outlook stopped receiving emails and it will not let me write new emails. I talked to someone and they said to visit xfinity.com/password, reset the password, and enter the new password into Outlook. 

This did not work. I need Outlook to work. What can I do?
