how to change preference setting for emails

I want the feature of emails being auto-changed to READ turned off. Its annoying to have to keep toggling to UNREAD everytime i open my email account or accidently land on the email i marked as UNREAD

We appreciate the feedback no the Unread/Read feature, @user_220b68.

It looks like one of our amazing Xperts, @rightfooted, answered a similar question awhile back:

There isn't a setting for that. Once an email is read, it can be marked as unread in the more actions menu.

Another of our Xperts, @Latoque, also gave some good information in another thread:

I can't duplicate what you are describing. By chance, do you also have it set to sort by "Ascending"? If you use descending, when you sort by Unread they should all appear at the top of the message list.
