how to add a contact to a group in Xfinity contacts?
I have a name in my contacts that I now want to add to a group I already have set up. How do I do that?

I am on a desktop Mac, but that shouldn't matter.
Alternate method to add a contact to a group: (You must have created the group first)-----------
In the Address Book contacts, select the contact you want, and then in the toolbar click on "Edit".
Then, scroll down a bit and you should see a field for "Groups".
Manually type in the name of the group you want (it should auto-populate for you in a drop-down)
Click the Save button at the bottom of the window.
The contact should now be in the Group.

By following one of the most bone-headed procedures I've ever seen. See https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite/apps/faq/index.html#addContact.
This works on a desktop or laptop, but I was not able to figure out how to do this on a phone or tablet.
For mobile devices, see @Latoque's post below.

Howdy user_mzithi, and thanks for stopping by our community with your question 🙌 If you're trying to add a contact specifically to your email contact list, the link in the previous comment will provide a nice step-by-step on how to get that done.
Should you be referring to anything outside of your email contact list, please let us know!

Correct. You can't created a new entry directly withing a group, you have to create it in Address Book and then drag and drop the entry from there to the destination Group. Doing that copies the entry from Address Book to the group. Note that if you then delete the entry from Address Book or from any Group, it will be deleted from Address Book and from any other Groups you have copied it to. Like I said above, "bone-headed".
It should be fairly easy to use this odd design on a desktop or laptop using a mouse. Is that what you are using, or are you trying to do this on a phone or a tablet?

I should also add that to remove the contact from the group, you can just reverse the process and delete the contact from that group field and Save again. That should remove it. Also, I was able to use drag and drop from the contact list over to the group in the left pane.
