As an alternative to deleting it, you could enable the Safe list in the account so any incoming emails would be restricted to one sender. To do this, sign into the account, and on the Inbox page click on the gear icon in the upper right corner, then on "Email Settings">>>>"Advanced settings". On that page you will see the option to check a box and enable the Safe list. Enter one of your own email addresses in the field and click on "Add". From then on, only email from the address you put into that field will get through. Nothing else will. The advantage to doing this in your case is that it allows you to keep that user ID for future use if you want it. Just sign into the account once every couple of months or so to keep it active.

If the email address belongs to a secondary user, you can delete the user by logging into the primary user's account.
