haven't received a new email in two days

I have new email on my phone but on my Mac laptop, it has been 2 days since an email has come in.  What should I try

On the laptop, are you using the Mail desktop client from Apple?  Or only the webmail interface and a browser?  If the latter, does the email work OK?
