Has the issue of not being able to permantly deleting an e-mail been resolved?

I have spent days on chats and hours on the phone trying to find out how, using an Xfinity login to email using Chrome, can I permanently delete an e-mail. I have 6 month old deletions in my "Recovery" area so the "they go away in 30 days" won't work on me.

Deleting an email from the Trash folder and then waiting 30 days for it to be removed from Recover is the only "permanent" delete they offer. If you need to be able to permanently delete an email right now, almost any other email system, many of them free, would let you do that.

Note that "old" messages will appear in Recover because they stay there for 30 days after they were placed there, regardless of the date of the email. If you delete a message that's a year old for example, it will still spend 30 days in Recover.
