Getting hundreds of spam e-mails. What are you doing to stop this?

For the past week I have been getting 100's of e-mails daily that are spam, phishing, things I have not signed up for.  I talked with someone last week and they said it would be fixed.  It continues.  I will probably be dropping Comcast thanks to the lack of help or the ability to talk with anyone.  Oh and the AI assistant is worthless when I ask to speak with an agent, it just keeps throwing the same no assistance line at me.

Hello user_gwr9yf, thank you for your post in our Xfinity Community forum. I understand how you feel. I cannot stand all the unwanted emails I get. These steps came from our intranet: Customers can filter spam in their Xfinity Email by setting up spam filters and email filters. To enable spam filtering, they can go to the **Email Settings** by clicking the **Gear** icon, then selecting **Advanced Settings**. They can also mark individual emails as spam by checking the box next to the message and clicking the **Mark as Spam** icon. Emails marked as spam will be moved to the **Spam** folder, which automatically deletes emails after seven days. For legitimate emails mistakenly marked as spam, customers can select them and click **Not Spam** to restore them to their inbox.

@XfinityJeffB Nope, doesn't help.  And how nice, my e-mail account now is not taking e-mails!  Customer service and Comcast lacking.

user_gwr9yf Thank you for keeping us posted so we can continue working together. What happened when you used the spam filters? Can you provide more details about your account not taking Emails?

@XfinityJeffB This isn't going to fix it.  Going through and figuring out every single e-mail or e-mail address I want to keep.

Proceed with caution! When scammers manage to hack into an online account, they sometimes "mailbomb" the account's recovery email addresses in the hope that the victim will be overwhelmed by the flood and won't see any "you changed your info" warning emails sent by the company managing the hacked account.

Comcast Security Assurance may be able to help. You can reach them at the number given in https://spa.xfinity.com/contact-us. Note that this is NOT one of the general customer service numbers. The first-line reps there are sometimes not very helpful, so you may need to be persistent and keep at them until you get a satisfactory answer.
