Filters seem to not work
Hi
I keep getting spam emails from outlook.com and hotmail.com addresses. I went to Email settings >Mail Filter Rules >Add New rule. Without the quotes, I have "@outlook.com" in the Rule name field, and in the Sender from Contains under conditions, I have "@outlook.com". I have selected Reject With Reason, and simply have put "no email address". It's not working, as I continue to get emails from these addresses. Why? Thank you.

Try leaving off the @ character.

"Reject With Reason" doesn't block the sender or delete the email, it just blocks matching emails and sends a "Reject" email containing the message you wrote. Spammers and scammers are not likely to be deterred by it.
Edit: correct "Reject With Reason" action

The spam emails started last week and are dozens a day. Im about ready to delete this
email account and go to Gmail and Duck. It's getting ridiculous.

Just did a test from my personal domain. The comment of ' the "reject with reason" rule will not stop the email from appearing in your inbox ', is false. It does, as I suspected, reject the email and send it back to the sender. Have a look:

My understanding is that filters are only applied to messages delivered to the Inbox, and as they are being delivered. I don't think they'll work on messages Comcast/Xfinity delivers to the Spam folder.
