Error message: The provided login data... seem to be wrong ???

When moving spam to my spam folder I receive a popup box with the following error message:

Error

The provided login data to access mail server imap comcast.net seem to be wrong. Please correct them.

I'm accessing mail via Chrome to https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite/#!!&app=io.ox/mail&folder=default0/INBOX or via my iPhone mail app.  I've scoured the Xfinity forums without success, and changed my password. Under Settings > Accounts, a secondary email account shows:

The entered credential or authentication information does not work or are no longer accepted by provider. Please change them.

A forum post from a Comcast employee (GabrielS" from two years ago seemed to address the issue.  The instructions stated to "update the password on the secondary account", followed by: "Please note that this is not changing the password for that secondary. It should only be used to update to a recently changed password." I have no idea what that means, and, in any case, it didn't work.

This morning, 17 of 34 emails in my in box were obvious spam or phishing attempts, which Xfinity should have auto directed to spam. (Yes, my spam filter is set to ON.)  This is getting difficult, and the error messages are cryptic and useless!  Kindly assist!

Hey, cirrus! Thanks for reaching out to us on the forums! I apologize to hear that you are having issues with trying to manage your email folders. a few questions for clarification:

1. Are you getting this error message while you're logged into the webmail from Xfinity.com?

2. When you go to the webmail, are you using a bookmark or pulling it from the browser history? If so, do you get different results if you go to Xfinity.com > click on the silhouette in the top right of the page > check email?

I explained in my request how I access webmail, providing the exact link from my browser bar.

I followed your suggestion and went directly to xFinity.com to check my email, checked a box on a message "YOU ARE A WINNER!", clicked on the spam button and up popped the error box, exactly as it does when I access email from my browser bookmark.

I have the same problem...  I can not receive or send any email.  It reads the credentials are wrong...  I have " imap.comcast.net  " as my imap credentials.  I have never changed them.  They work on my other two comcast emails.  Spent HOURS on the phone with xfinity and no help at all, no working solution.  Still can not get my email.  (They had me change my passwords, didn't work).  Shut down modem, shut down laptop.  Reboot.  Nothing worked.    I NEED TO GET INTO MY EMAIL.  I have three emails for comcast.  Two work, the third will not work.  They all have the exact same imap credentials.

I am having the same problem since Hurricane Beryl. I receive message on one email but the messages on the other have disappeared and am not receiving. I need this email to work again. I am not using any third party software. It is the same whether I access from phone, lap top, ipad, etc. Even if I click through from a fresh Xfinity link.
