Embedded images won't stay visible

For the past few days, images in email haven't shown up properly; if reloaded, the images are visible for a fraction of a second, but then the "broken link" icon appears with no image.

Using Firefox on a Mac.

Thanks for confirming. I know you mentioned using two different browsers. Is this happening on one device and if so, are you able to log in to your email using a different device to see if the issue is present on multiple devices?

@granny101 Thank you for reaching out. Is this your Xfinity email address on the website or a third party email such as Outlook? Are you using the direct website  at http://connect.xfinity.com/  and if so, what browser are you using? Are you getting any error messages or codes?

This is online, using mail at xfinity.com. I am using Firefox. No error messages appear.

I've been having the same issue using both Chrome and Edge.  I went to my email inbox, clicked on the gear icon in the upper right corner, then email settings, then security, and under mail unchecked "some external images can pose a security risk. . . . . ." the problem was resolved.

Not a good solution since now I'm afraid this will pose a security risk.   However, until recently I didn't have any problem with images from the same sources so my inclination is to think it's an Xfinity issue.
