Embedded email images

This has been an ongoing issue for me over the last couple of years. Sometimes resolves and sometimes pops up again. When I receive emails from businesses, often embedded images within the emails are not visible. I use Microsoft Edge and it is always an issue. When I open my emails in Outlook, it usually is not an issue. I access my emails through the xfinity home page so I don't know if this is the problem. A fix that was sent to me a couple of years ago doesn't seem to work any longer because the drop-downs aren't the same when you go into Settings.  Can someone please tell me if there is a fix for this in my settings that I'm not seeing? Not sure how to categorize this question since email is not an option in the choices.

Hello @DGM1948 are you getting any error messages or details about the embedded images that you can share?

Not getting an error message.  Some emails from businesses have embedded images that show and others do not.  I've had this same issue on and off for a while. The last time I used the forum to resolve, two years ago, I received this message to fix it:

We spoke to a tech at Xfinity yesterday and he found a solution to the problem of embedded images not showing in some e-mails received.  Here is what we did to correct it:  At the Xfinity home page, at the top right where there are 3 dots, left click the dots and in the dropdown go to Settings.   At Settings, inder Privacy And Security left click on Site Settings.  At Site Settings, left click on View permissions and data stored across sites.  Then, left click on xfinity.com.  That will bring a dropdown, in the dropdown left click on emails.xfininty.com.  In that link,  at Ads at the right side it may be on Block.  If it is, switch it to Allow.  In that same link, on Insecure content also on the right side make sure it is on Allow.  When we did both of those things, the e-mails no longer blocked the ad content.  I know it's a lot to do but I hope it is understandable and works for you as it did for us.

I tried to follow the same instructions this time but it made no sense. The home page dots, settings, privacy and security all seemed different now.  Could just be me. If you can make any sense from the above to have it relate to how the home page is set up now, please let me know.

Have you tried going through the settings on Edge? What about if you use an alternate browser?

Since that time, obviously the home page has changed and it's now the Discovery Hub.

Go to webmail:  https://connect.xfinity.com/appsuite/

Once you're there click on the gear icon and then on Email Settings

In the left pane under Security and then in the right pane under Mail, make sure both items have a check mark.  If they don't, put one there.

Sign out of email, then close your browser.

Restart your browser and sign in to email again.

If that doesn't do it, try clearing your cache and cookies, sign out of email, close your browser, and then restart it for a new session.
