Emails aren't sent or received - emails moved to outbox - open emails to see what's wrong

Since 2:07 am today, my Comcast emails aren't being sent or received on my android Galaxy S series. I tried to send a test message to my own email address. It gets moved to my outbox with the message: "Couldn't send." I select the email that didn't send and it says: "Couldn't authenticate...the password or authentication method may be incorrect. Check your outgoing server settings, then try again." I then selected: "Settings" and it brings up the "Server settings" screen. I don't know what the fields should be, but haven't changed anything to my phone or settings or done a phone update. I did a soft and hard restart (pushed the down volume and power button together until restarted), but still not working. I can send and receive emails if I go directly to Comcast's email site. Help.

We are all experiencing the same problem.  My personal feeling is that the Samsung App that may have an update in the past week is the cause of the problem.  I can reinstall the Samsung App and within 60 seconds it is working again..  30 minutes later it no longer works.

Now if it was a Comcast issue, why can I get my Comcast email on my outlook account through Microsoft 365 (Office).

It's pretty sad that Samsung App is blaming Comcast and Comcast is blaming Samsung App.  I wish they would work together to resolve the issue.

@user_254334 samsung app was last updated July 27, 2023, why would the Samsung app suddenly stop working correctly?   Xfinity updates each night.  Xfinity did something behind the scene on there end.

As a group, we need to put the pressure on Samsung App.  I doubt it has anything to do with Comcast.  If it did, why can I receive email on my outlook email via Microsoft 365 (Office).  The more we push them, the better our chances of getting this fixed....

Mine is doing the same thing as of Last night around 11 PM EST... My Galaxy S22 just stopped working, this is definitely a Comcast Server Issue.. Please let's just keep calling Comcast/Xfinity and put in escalation tickets.. We pay to much for these Phones as well as our Internet providers to have this problem.. Everyone should call Comcast/Xfinity tomorrow and escalate this problem..

@user_37f5ya  Are you using the Samsung Email App on your Galaxy S22?  That app is the problem. I've got the same phone and a Comcast.net email account. That account works fine on my Mac and iPad. Only the Samsung Email App on my Galaxy S22+ fails to authenticate and so fails to send or receive email.

The same thing is happening to me. I'm using the samsung email app. I even deleted and recreated my account within the app. It synced once and that's it.

Same here. So frustrating. It works for 5 minutes, then stops. Keep deleting data, then set up again, rinse and repeat. Then can't send emails.

I have just downloaded the last version of Samsung mail (version 6.1.81.1) It is working, but only time will tell if it will keep working. Hopefully Samsung and/or Comcast can find the issue, but if not I'll post and update if this older version keeps working.

Same issue here on Galaxy S21. Have uninstalled, reinstalled loads of times. Works for a little minute, then nothing. Non of my saved email is loading, can't send Email, loses authentication.

So frustrating. They need a dedicated email app like they used to have, don't understand why they can't figure this out.

I'm having the same problem, 10:20 pm  west coast. Can't send or receive comcast email on my Samsung phone, stopped syncing ~2:30am Nov 7 but I can access on my laptop (Mac)

I agree with you, they, like every other email provider, should have a dedicated app. They did have a dedicated app, but as I recall, Comcast said that most users use another Email app to get their Comcast emails and they decided to retire the Comcast email app. I'm sure it was a huge cost savings.

But I wish they didn't retire it. Even free email services have dedicated phone apps.

If they made a fantastic phone app, it may attract new customers and keep current ones. Especially now that there's an issue that may or may not be caused by another party.

@sgeisler Have you tried to change your password? I am seeing customers stating issue was resolved after a password change.

I also use the Gmail app at times and have added my Comcast account to it. It seems to be working right now, will update if this remains the case.

I have an old J3 Galaxy phone; I am having same issue as everyone. My last sync was 1:53 AM on November 7th.  What I found interesting is when I go into the galaxy store, the email app is not there. When I go into Settings/Apps/Email and select App details in store, it says "This content is no longer available for your phone. Contact the content provider if you want them to add support for your phone."  What is up with that???? I am afraid to uninstall it thinking it may not be available for me to reinstall.  I am praying that this will be fixed soon.  And I have V6.1.80.16.  That version was updated July 2nd and it looks like the last update version was in August. Though, I did update a few apps yesterday and I thought one of them was the email! I am trying to find a date of when it was last updated, but I am not sure where to look.  Here is Samsung update dates:   https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/samsung-email/samsung-email-6-1-80-16-release/

When I did a data reset on my Galaxy S23 phone, I lost all previous Comcast emails (inbound and outbound) on the Samsung Email app. They're all still on the Comcast email website. I can live without those emails as long as the app syncing issue is solved.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app yesterday and it worked for a bit.  It's not syncing again this morning on the app but it does show it is syncing under manage accounts.  My rest of my family has iPhone's and they are getting their emails.   I followed the steps from Comcast and still having sync issues.  Of course, their answer is to login to their site but that's inconvenient.

Good morning everyone, the Samsung email app on my Galaxy S23 isn't syncing with Comcast emails again this morning. I was hoping that they'd fix it overnight. Anyone have new or different information?
