email to text and text to email
A few days ago, exchanges between email and text quit working for me.
When I text to email (AT&T to Xfinity), it says delivered but it never shows up. I checked the spam folder.
When I email to text, I get a response email saying it was delivered due to a 'permanent error'.
It worked perfectly up until a couple of days ago.
The problem seems to be on the Xfinity side because exchanges with a gmail account continue to work fine.
The chat people couldn't help.

Hi there! This is definitely not the kind of experience we want our customers to have with us. We'll check on this right away and will do the best possible for you. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this email issue.
To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:
-Click "Sign In" if necessary
-Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3EqVMu7
-Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
-The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there
- As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list
- An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it.

Good afternoon,
Can you provide the exact error message? "permanent error" is the generic kickback, but should also include specific identifiers (ex: 5.5.0, 4.2.1, etc.). Text messaging to email depends on a lot of different variables like cell reception, tower routing, carrier issues, etc. Would you also happen to know what the email domain for ATT is when you do text-to-email and vice versa? (ex: att.com, att.net, att.org, etc.)

Good morning,
Browsing the ATT forums it appears this has been a reoccurring issue with the ATT email servers:

5.2.0 is a remote server error, simply put its the ATT server declining our email delivery attempts. Some of the above mentioned posts on the ATT forums indicate this being an issue with any email provider in most cases, not just comcast.net email.
