Email : Stay Signed In

While signing in to email , I check the boxes " keep me signed in " and " don't ask for a code again in this browser " , though I find myself signing in and getting a code every time I want to use my email ,  why is that ?
Additionally , it appears that there are many URL's involved :  connect.xfinity.com  ,

my.xfinity.com ,  login.xfinity.com etc. , and each either require another sign in or get a service code " SRV-0001"  .

Leaving the tab open is helpful , but I prefer to clear my browser cache .  The only solution I have found is using the Duck Duck Go browser for mail instead of Safari  , it has a feature called " fireproof this website " which allows me to remain signed in even after clearing .

I have used Comcast since 2008  , it used to be good .  As the years passed , the email experience has worsened and the cable tv is nearly $300.00 / month   !  The only redeeming qualities are the stellar wi-fi and internet .

I do have AdGuard , it doesn't seem to have a negative impact in my iCloud email , so I'm going to use that one more often .  I use the Safari browser and the Duck Duck Go search engine which has a feature " fireproofing " , which allows me to remain signed in .

I just need to change my habit of automatically hitting the Safari icon .  Thanks so much for the feedback

Hello @Chrissy15221! Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your day to leave a post on our community forum. If you could send our team a private message with your full name, the name listed on the account (if different), and the service address associated with your account, I'd be more than happy to look into this for you.

To send a Private Message, please click on the chat icon in the top-right corner of the screen, next to the bell icon, and then type or select "Xfinity Support" to initiate a live chat.

To send the requested information in a private message ("DM") to Xfinity Support from any forums.xfinity.com page:

  • Click "Sign In" if that prompt is visible

  • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon above or https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

  • On the DM page click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person" but don't do that. It won't work.

Instead, type Xfinity Support there. As you are typing a drop-down list appears.

  • Select "Xfinity Support" from the list. An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

  • Press Enter or tap the > icon to send it

Why?  Likely suspects are browser protections for scripting and cookies.  You could try clearing your browser cache and cookies.  Browsers also have scripting protection built in.  They change from build to build. Depending on your settings, you may have to add an exception for the web site.  Browser add-ons like script blocks, tracking protection can also block cookies, and anti-virus programs with 'web shields' can do it too.

Xfinity's site is a tangled mess of authentication, secure/insecure content, ads, 3rd party analytics, javascript, broken templates, and tracking cookies. Instead of disabling security features in your browser, a better idea is to just use a 3rd party email client.  Pick one that's open source, and a highly active project.  You have more people looking for bugs and security problems that way.

For the paranoid, you control the compiler, and all of the library files used to compile the program, so when a potential problem comes up in a library used in a project, you can update that, and recompile before an 'official release' is distributed.
