Email Spam Problems
Nearly every day I receive spam/scam/phishing emails which tell me that my automatic subscription/renewal to some service is complete (usually for hundreds of dollars), and if I didn't authorize this transaction to call some support phone number. I usually attempt to forward these scams to some appropriate authority - provided by the company that the fake email is purporting to represent. More often than not xfinity returns the email as non-deliverable with the following - "Your message was not delivered to its intended recipient(s) because our automated spam filtering tools recognized one or more characteristics of your message as potentially associated with spam. Our policies prohibit the transmission of spam using Comcast's platforms and services.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this message, please reach out to our Customer Security Assurance Team at 833-501-0837. The information at the top of this email will help Xfinity with any questions you may have. Thank you for being an Xfinity customer."
My question is - If my attempting to report this is considered spam, when all I'm doing is FORWARDING an email that I already received, WHY ISN'T THE ORIGINAL CONSIDERED SPAM?

@user_gtsxtc I definitely understand the frustration if you are receiving spam/phishing emails and are running into an error reporting it. This link will walk you through the full options to report those emails. I believe if you are forwarding the emails, that may be where the disconnect is happening in reporting them:
When reporting phishing emails, it is critical that you send us the email headers. Please do not forward the phishing email. Forwarding the email will remove the original headers.
Once you have copied the full message headers from the spam message, paste the header and the message into an email and send it to abuse@comcast.net with the subject line "Phishing email."

Since 3AM today my INBOX has received 3000+ SPAMs.
Called Support.
Sent email with Into to ABUSE@COMCAST.net
Need Help.
There is no apparent local setting to filter this mess, assuming a COMCAST problem.
At least 50% are apparently foreign origin per language in headings.
There is pattern of who or where from.

Proceed with caution! When scammers manage to hack into an online account, they sometimes "mailbomb" the account's recovery email addresses in the hope that the victim will be overwhelmed by the flood and won't see any "you changed your info" warning emails sent by the company managing the hacked account.
Comcast Security Assurance may be able to help. You can reach them at 1-888-565-4329 (from https://spa.xfinity.com/contact-us). Note that this is NOT one of the general customer service numbers. The first-line reps there are sometimes not very helpful, so you may need to be persistent and keep at them until you get a satisfactory answer.
