email Spam folder

This page

says "Emails from Inbox, Sent, Draft, Trash, and Spam folders can be downloaded" using Thunderbird.

How can I set up Thunderbird to download Spam messages? (Thunderbird has a Spam folder, but nothing ever appears there.

As a test, move an email from some other folder in the Comcast account to the Spam folder. Does it appear in the "Junk" folder in Thunderbird?

Thanks for the suggestion.

I did what you suggested. The message did not appear in the Junk folder in Thunderbird.

Yesterday , in MailSettings --> Advanced, I set this:

Override Security Filters - Allow spam and potentially harmful messages in your Inbox.

That did not work either.

This is inconceivable. How many emails have I missed in the last few years because of this problem?
