Email search not working properlu

The email search function is not working properly. When I search for emails, the search results are only for the past few days. No matter how I search - subject, text in email or by sender, the results are only a few days and I know there are many more.  It is very important for me to use the search function. How can I get this issue resolved.

email search function is not working. did what everyone did above..it's not a macOS probem, it;s a comcast/xfinity issue that they refuse to fix. can't search in mail. it's npt right. we pay far too uch for them NOT to fix internally these issues. Typical excuses.

@LASweet1 - Oh no! It's important to us that you're able to get the most out of your Xfinity email. We can help! What error code or message are you receiving when searching in your inbox using Xfinity Connect

they still have not fixed this issue!! Not surprising. Xfinity/comcast say they call you back but they don't. We just get directed to some call center, where they all read some [Edited: "Language"] script..you wait tons of hours..and NOTHING gets done. You even ask for a tech supervisor and they also don't know [Edited: "Language"] they are doing. We still pay our monthly proice and basically stay with very sub standard service..It's disgraceful!!

Is there a specific error message you receive when attempting to search by anything else besides the date? Have you tried:

  • Quotations (" ")
Use quotations around an entire phrase (or group of words) to search for an exact match within your email.
    • For example, if you want to search for the phrase "dinner Friday night," entering it as "dinner Friday night" will return all messages with that exact text.
    • This is particularly useful when searching for a phrase that includes punctuation, as the search engine ignores them. For example, to search for the time "9:30" simply enter "9:30" and you will find all messages with the exact text 9:30.
  • Smart Lookup
Type what you're searching for in the search box beneath the toolbar and a drop-down list will appear with options to search for that word or phrase in a specific folder or section of your email.

I am having same problem - search results only go back to Aug 31. Have called multiple times and no one is able to help or even understand the issue. The search is very important. How can this be fixed?

Hello @user_8f109f Please forgive our delay. For the trouble with searching emails beyond a few days you can visit this site for tips on searching the inbox and folders. You can also try to clear the cache/cookies/history from your browser and revisit the site and search again. If the steps from the site are not helping and clearing the details does not make a change we can open a request with our repair team. They would be able to troubleshoot further with you and if needed, send the trouble over to our engineering teams. If those steps do not help please send us a direct message with your name and service address and the email address that you are using.

To send a direct message, please click on the chat icon in the top-right corner of the screen, and select "Xfinity Support" to initiate a live chat.
Click "Sign In" if necessary
Click the "direct messaging" icon or https://comca.st/3J0ir1l
Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
Press Enter to send it

Email search doesn't work.  I have spoken to technical support twice and they were not able to resolve the issue.  I also cleared the browser/cache/cookies a few times and I am still not able to search emails.

Hi, @user_30a5ae. Are you having this issue with searching for all emails or only ones based on specific timeframes? Did they ever open a ticket for you?

@mondayjr That e-mail is interferining with my e-mail in my computer and my phone and I do not know why in 35 minutes you could not find it and remove it from both items.  The other e-mail was removed alot faster than that, maybe I will have to find sombody else for e-mails.

I have this same problem.  Called xfinity technical support and they sent me an email that it was fixed.  Obviously, it wasn't.  This isn't hard to address or tell customers how to fix it rather than the responses I've seen below!!!

Comcast email is having trouble finding/searching for emails. I have manually scrolled to the approximate dates to find them. But when I do a search from, nothing comes up, even though I have found it through scrolling.

@Mr__Ed  I called comcast tech support, and after about 1.5 hours and multiple individuals on their end, they finally said that there IS a problem, and offered me a modest credit to my account.  They assured me that they were elevating the issue.  I never heard back from xfinity, but within about a week, search was working appropriately again.
