Email Problems Using Thunderbird
For the past 3 weeks or so, when I access my email with Thunderbird (when I first open Thunderbird in the morning), I get a popup saying "Connection to mail dot comcast dot net was reset." It doesn't download any messages. If I leave Thunderbird open, eventually messages have been downloaded if I leave Thunderbird open (so far). I can look at and manage my emails through Comcast web mail, but I like Thunderbird due to the amount of emails I get, and I have it set up to put the emails in the proper folders. And it probably helps save Comcast storage space. I've used Thunderbird for years with no problems. What's going on?

Having the same problem too. One of my email addresses just won't load in the past few days. Nothing I've tried helps so now I have to go to my online email to read email. What has happened???

The day after I posted this problem, Thunderbird started working normally again with the Comcast email server. Maybe Xfinity investigated and fixed the problem. Another possibility is when I turned my PC on the following day, I ran Avira Antivirus before doing anything. Avira found 12 system registry errors. These errors are where a registry entry does not have the correct path. Maybe it was one of these registry entries that was causing the problem. But I seriously doubt this, because I usually run Avira every three days or so, and it didn't fix the problem before. BTW Thunderbird also downloads messages from my gmail account, and I have never had problems with that mail server (but it's a different type of mail server).
