Email not working

Yesterday my email stopped working in outlook on my desktop. I began asking multiple times for incorrect username and password. they were typed in correctly. I then attempted to sign into my email online and had no issues. I have confirmed my third party allow box is checked. Today my email has stopped working on my phone Apple mail app doing the same thing. I have gone in and reset my password on xfinity internet. I can log in on google chrome to the internet application but still can not get outlook or apple mail to work. I have also tried deleting and re adding that accounts on both apps. They will not re add stating incorrect password or username. can someone help me?

I am facing the same issue.  I can access webmail, but on my iPhone, it repeatedly asks for the password to no avail.

Hello, @melbatoast454 To fix Mac Mail constantly asking for a password, try updating the password in System Settings, deleting old entries in Keychain Access, or removing and re-adding the account. Common causes include outdated stored passwords, 2FA requirements, or server sync issues. 

 

I'm also including information on IMAP setting which could be causing issues as well. 

 

IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) is an email protocol that keeps your emails on the server, allowing for synchronization across multiple devices. Actions such as deleting or marking messages as unread are reflected on all devices. This is in contrast to POP (Post Office Protocol), which downloads emails to a device and does not synchronize changes across devices. IMAP is generally preferred for users who access their email from various devices, ensuring a consistent experience. To switch to IMAP, users typically need to adjust settings in their email application and enter their Comcast email credentials.
