email issues with hundreds of foreign spam messages
Last night I received about 750 spam emails from foreign countries. Most weren’t in English and even had foreign characters. They were all bulk emails. 2 of them had my account information from a hotel chain claiming to have hotel reservations and my points being used. Contact with the hotel chain confirmed that was false and no reservations or points had been touched. Did Comcast somehow have a glitch last night that allowed these through when they normally would not? It happened between midnight and 9:30 this morning. After deleting them all and reporting them all as spam, I have not received anymore. Was there a glitch that let them through. Normally these bulk emails would have been blocked.

Proceed with caution! When scammers manage to hack into an online account, they sometimes "mailbomb" the account's recovery email addresses in the hope that the victim will be overwhelmed by the flood and won't see any "you changed your info" warning emails sent by the company managing the hacked account.
If an employee doesn't reply to your message here, Comcast Security Assurance should be able to help. You can reach them at 1-888-565-4329 (from https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/). Note that this is NOT one of the general customer service numbers. The first-line reps there are sometimes not very helpful, so you may need to be persistent and keep at them until you get a satisfactory answer.

Thank you Bruce. I had called the number you gave and was able to get an agent to help. He reset the filters and did some other tweaks and said I wouldn’t get anymore of these. By that time I had thousands of them since they kept coming all day long. Whatever he did worked. He said it would take 30 minutes for the fix to take effect but so far, I have not received any more.
