email from Brother always goes to Spam. How to whitelist?

When my brother send me an email it always goes to the Spam folder.  How to white list and don't send me to the Customer Security Page as that is useless.

Hello, @wishthiswaseasyno thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. I'd definitely like to look into the email concern further, to confirm do you have any spam filters set up that may route emails to that box; https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/spam-filters-and-email-blocking-new-experience

@wishthiswaseasyno thank you for confirming you don't have any spam filters set up. Is the email address in question set up in your email address book: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/delete-contact-universal-address-book

We also have safe connect list you can update emails to: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfinity-connect-safe-list

I found another post that mentioned similar issues of emails going to spam folders unintentially and here were some steps outlined to fix:

  1. Review spam settings in Xfinity webmail under Settings > Email > Advanced Settings.
  2. Mark legitimate emails in the Spam folder as “Not Spam”.
  3. Add the email and your own email address to the Safe Senders list.
  4. Double-check that both email addresses are correctly saved in your address book.
  5. Change your Xfinity email password and review recent login activity.

I have the same problem and what you recommend absolutely DOES NOT work.   You cannot add one person to the safe list because that is the only emails that will come through and I am not entering over 500 contacts to the safe list.   I mark every email I get from this person as not spam and she is in my address book and yet they are continually marked as spam.

@user_2lm8ts have you already migrated to Yahoo with your email?

Absolutely not.   I want Xfinity email to work correctly.

I fully understand. Have you tested the Email Safe List to see if that would make sure you get the emails from specific people that are currently going to spam? If that fixes the issue I would recommend doing this with all the email address you want to get emails from @user_2lm8ts

As I stated above I am NOT going to type in over 500 legitimate email addresses in a safe list.  If I mark an email as NOT SPAM and they are in my address file Xfinity email should be smart enough to not put that sender back in the spam box but put them in my Inbox.

@user_2lm8ts completely understand not wanting to have to add many email addresses to a safe list. We're always looking for ways to improve the experience, and can make sure to pass along the feedback about a possible easier solution. I did want to help get the proper expectations that currently, the options provided would be what's available to try and stop the emails from going directly to Spam.

Here's a forums post I found mentioning steps that need to be taken: https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/email/how-to-prevent-email-from-going-to-the-spam-folder/602dafffc5375f08cd1ec7b

This article mentions some other things to check: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/protect-xfinity-address-book

Valid emails are still going to my spam folder.
Here are some tips to prevent email you want from going to your spam folder:

  • Make sure the sender’s email address is an exact match of what’s in your Xfinity Address Book.
  • If you access mail from other third-party clients (such as Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.), you may need to review your settings as they have their own mail filters and blocked senders list.
    • These filters may put the mail in the spam folder even if the sender is in your Xfinity Address Book.
  • Check your email rules to make sure they aren’t moving the mail: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/spam-filters-and-email-blocking-new-experience

@XfinityDena

The "Safe List" in Comcast email is not the same thing as a "white list" in other email programs.  The safe list in Comcast (if enabled) only allows incoming emails from contacts that are on that list----------nothing else will get through.  It's gone now, but there was an item pinned to the top of the forum which stated that in order to ensure that email from individual senders gets to the Inbox, you just need to make sure the contact is in your address book.  That is supposed to keep them from going to Spam.
