Click on your name in your post and it will take you to your profile page where you can find all of the posts that you've made.  Alternately, in the upper right hand corner you can click on your avatar which will also take you to your profile page.  So, you don't always have to rely on those emails.  😉

Drag and drop can be tricky, especially if you're not using a mouse but a touchpad or touchscreen.  When you drag something to a folder you need to hover over the folder until it highlights and then release the mouse button or touch.  I have "dropped" things into the wrong folder from time to time myself, but I blame it on the fact that I have shoulder spasms that sometimes causes me to jerk while using my mouse.  I just chalk it up to an annoyance.  It does take a bit of practice if you're not used to doing it.  But, here again, if you have a number of emails in a category that need to be moved, having them all highlighted and doing drag and drop is much faster and less time consuming than moving them one by one with all the extra steps.

Hang in and good luck!

How are you accessing the email?  Exactly what happens when you try to move or copy an email to a folder?

Ok, first of all, there are MANY of us confused at this new format, with no response from Comcast, WHICH we pay a lot of money for!!!!!!!!  It would be nice if they could kindly respond to their customers!!!    There used to be a folder at the top that you could click on, pick the folder to file the email, and boom, done!! Now??????  Instead of doing each one individually, because of the 4 step process now, I wait until I have numerous to file, under all my separate folders!!  Very time consuming!   Thanks Comcast, for your care about your customers, in responding to all of us about our concerns!!  (said extremely sarcastically!)

I have numerous folders, some examples, billing, medical, insurance, orders, etc. etc.   I used to just have to hit a toggle on the toolbar to file emails to these folders...Now you have to go to the 3 lines, choose move to, pick which folder you want to move it to...I'm sure many people use this option, and it seems to be extra work, taking extra steps to do something that is probably necessary to uses for a lot of people!!!

OR---------you could just drag and drop messages from the list over to any folder you like.  You can select as many as you like and they will  all move as a group.  To move just one message you don't even have to check the box, just put your mouse pointer on it and hold--drag it to the folder.

OR--------you could right-click on a message and Move it from the menu of options that appears.  You have choices here.  The Move icon in the toolbar is really redundant.

Just sayin

@gypsyldy

Which is exactly the same thing I pointed out to you in a couple of other threads.  Put check marks in the boxes next to the emails you want to put in "medical" for example; that highlights them and allows you to drag and drop those emails into that folder.

Or, you can set up filters to have those emals automatically put into those folders so that you can read them directly from the folder.

What??  How do you drag and drop???  The list of folders is off to the left, vertically, alphabetical...they are all spaced pretty closely...when you drag and drop, there's a good chance it's not going to go into the folder you wanted it to go in....I tried, it didn't work for me...I'm just going to have to click on all "order" emails, file those, "medical" , file those, and so on....Don't know why they had to change it at all....not quite sure what the benefit of doing what ever they did was!

Yes, I was wondering that also...(and yes, I use a regular wireless mouse)...If I highlight a bunch of emails to go into one specific folder, which one do you drag?  Didn't quite get how that would work...and thanks for the info on finding my posts!!!  I appreciate it, and seriously, I appreciate any tips you, or anyone else has to offer...Thanks!

It really doesn't matter where you position your mouse on the highlighted emails.  If you miss and they un-highlight [my crazy occasional problem!], just highlight them again.

Just a suggestion.....make a Temp folder and then send yourself some dummy test emails - maybe three or four - and do a practice run with them.  That way you can get familiar with the action, and a little bit of confidence under your mouse.  You'd be surprised how many test mails I have done over the years while helping here just so I can try something out.

Aaaaah, I finally get it!!!  I see how it shows which folder it's going into when you drag it...!!!!  Ok, I got this!!!  Lol...Thanks!!!  Now only if I didn't have to scroll down to get the folder I use the most!  (Orders!  Serious on-line shopping addict here!)....But I see when it highlights the folder it's going to and to just click, and it's done!!!  Yeah!!!

The folders are  displayed alphabetically by default.  There is a way to change the order though.  Right-click on the folder and then on "Rename".  Then----------------------

Put a number as the first character in each folder name and they will display in that sequence-- ie: 1--2--3--4-- and so on.   It's a little trick I picked up playing around with my old Yahoo account, which responds the same way.  Most webmail programs will.  You can do the same thing using the letters of the alphabet instead of numbers.  If you want a folder moved to be 1st in the list even though it starts with a Z, put "a" as the first letter of the name.
