Email filter rules have vanished - PLEASE HELP

Within the past 24-48 hours, my lengthy list of email rules at connect.xfinity.com for one of my email addresses (not this one) has vanished.  I've probably spent hundreds of hours over the past several years building them up.  Recreating them will be virtually impossible and I have no screenshots (never imagined that I'd need them).  Please help.

Note that this happened sometime after Tuesday, 12/20 @ 10:00 pm MST.  The filter rules for the affected email address were still present and working at that time.  They're now gone, unlike the rules for my other three email addresses which are still present.  I would appreciate input from someone at Comcast.  Thanks.

@milehiguy If you can direct message me the comcast.net email address involved, I can take a look.

Hi Dave, sent you a PM yesterday afternoon (12/28).  Note that I'll never remember all the rules lost for that address, but I have begun a reconstruction of them.  I left a suggestion for you in the PM, namely to provide an option for us to backup, or at least export, the rules associated with each address, along the lines of what I can do in Microsoft Outlook email on my PC.

Hey @milehiguy! I'm not seeing a DM from you. If you haven't, please be sure to send a DM to "Xfinity Support".

I no longer work for Comcast.

Note that:

  • @XfinityDaveL wrote "direct message me", but provided no instructions
  • @XfinityDaveL is one of the few employees whose profile has a "Send Message" link

Perhaps @milehiguy used the employee's "Send Message" link instead of using the Direct Message process?

And perhaps when employees ask customers to send a message, they should provide instructions for how that message should be sent?

@BruceW with the number of posts that @milehiguy has made, I suspect he knows how to send a direct message.    😉

No doubt. But @XfinityTambrey doesn't seem to realize that, in this case, there is more than one way to send one.

To anyone still following this thread ... as it turns out, @XfinityDaveL sent me a message back on 12/30/2022 indicating that although he couldn't restore my rules, he could retrieve them, and he included (pasted) them in his message.  They're in an odd format (.xml probably), but should be very helpful in recreating my rules online.  Thanks again to Dave. 👍

@milehiguy

I'm curious--------did @XfinityDaveL  give you any indication of why or how the rules vanished in the first place?  Other folks reading this thread might like to know that.

@Latoque  Sorry, no information re: why the rules for this one address just vanished.  Somewhat related - one thing I suggested to @XfinityDaveL was for Comcast to add an option allowing users to save/export the rules so that they're at least backed up somewhere.  He said he'd pass the idea along.
