Email Down - Flakey Service
Just want to mention to Xfinity customer support that Comcast email is very flakey lately, for about the last week or so. I use SMTP and POP to access my email. It has just stopped working yet again and, according to my connection log, I am successfully connecting to the SMTP server, but CANNOT connect to the POP server. I am using port 995 for POP, and port 587 for SMTP, both using TLS/SSL, and both authenticated using password.
UPDATE — my email starting working again, but this is an ongoing problem, off and on recently. In the past, overall, email access has been very reliable. Sometimes it would work with my VPN and sometimes not, but would rarely fail altogether. Hope this helps to isolate the issue(s).
