email deleting deceased email address

My wife passed in 2022 and I'm the primary account holder. I still get messages forwarded from her old address. I no longer need the account and would like to decommission or delete the account permanently. How would I go about doing this? I can't do it myself since logging into the email account I can't get a verification since her phone number is now gone. Thanks

Can you clarify--------are you able to sign into her account normally and see the Inbox?  Was she a secondary account to your Primary?  If you still have the password, you would be able to go into the settings for that account and disable or delete any forwarding that has been set up in it.

Also, since all Comcast email accounts are going to be migrated to Yahoo this year sometime, you could simply not accept the transition for that account when the time comes and just abandon it.  It will just go away after that.  You could also call Comcast Security and see if they can help you with closing the account----------------
