Email Attachments

All of sudden over the last couple of weeks, I can no longer add attachments of more than 25 KB. I googled the limits and am told that it's 25 MB. Today I tried to send an email with a Word and 2 Publisher attachments. The total size of all 3 attachments was 1.3 MB. It failed to send. I ended up having to send it through my gmail account. What's up with this?

Thank you for joining us here in the Xfinity Support Forums. The maximum size of an email cannot exceed 25 MB; this includes attachments, headers, text, formatting, etc. If the entire email exceed 25 MB, it will not send. During troubleshooting, did you try sending a blank email--no headers or special formatting--with the attachment? If so, and you still received the error, let me know how you're sending and receiving your Comcast emails (through the Xfinity Connect Portal, through a Third Party Client, etc.).

@XfinityBrie Sorry, I'm just getting back to you. So, the email is set up as follows: It has 3 recipients, a subject line of "Service Docs 7-24-22", and 3 attachments--1 Word Doc of 32 KB, 2 Publisher docs a total of 1.25 MB. That's it. There's no way that the total size of that email exceeds 25 MB. Like I said in my original post, this just started happening. I have my Comcast email set up on my laptop through the mail app, but the same thing happens when I try to send the email through the Comcast Web Portal. This particular email is one that I send on a weekly basis. I have now had to send it through Gmail. But I had to scan 4 pages and email the scan to my wife a couple of weeks ago, and the same thing happened. This was only a 4.5 MB file.

No need to apologize, @jandklines. The awesome thing about our platform is the fact that you can step away and return to this post at a time that is most convenient for you. We're available 24/7, so we can pick right up where we left off. We'd be happy to investigate this further. To get started, can you please send a direct message with your name and service address to "Xfinity Support"? You can do this by clicking on the "Direct Messaging" chat icon in the top right corner of the page, then click on the pen and pad icon and enter "Xfinity Support" in the "To" section of the chat.

I no longer work for Comcast.
