Downloading Of Very Old eMails: How Please From Very Sr. Citizen

Hello,

Have tried for hours, really, but just cannot find how to do this:

Have a brand new MAC desktop

Use Apple's MAIL App. with Comcast.

How do I download a full years worth of old eMails from The Comcast Server.

I imagine that since its a IMAP, ALL the old ones are still on the Comcast Server.

Will blame it on old age, a great excuse for anything, but if someone

could please all the very exact steps to follow, would be most appreciative.

Thanks,

Bob

I use a Mac also with the native Mac mail app.  If you have set up your email as iMap correctly all your messages from inbox, sent, junk from the last 30 days and trash from the last week should download. I suggest you login to the comcast connect page and see how many emails you have there. It should match. If not, hit the synchronize button and then check the trash folder and right click on recover deleted items.  The emails may be in there.

A couple other things to check. Go into your Mac Mail app and click on the Mail tab at the top, go to preferences. Choose Comcast and click on the Accounts tab at the top. Make sure you have Enable this account checked and the status below that says Online with a green dot to the right of the word.

If you continue to have problems call Apple Care at 800-275-2273.  Add it to Favorites on your iPhone also. Your new Mac came with a one year warranty. If you haven’t done it already, buy the Apple Care + to extend ur warranty to three years for ur Mac.  I just got $600 worth of service for free for my two year old Mac. Comcast tech support knows little about Macs as far as the Mail app is concerned and will give you the Apple phone number also. If you are new to Mac, there are tons of free videos on You Tube to help you learn.  Two I like are Tech Talk America and Learn with Joel Feld.  Good Luck.

@Robert11 thank you for reaching out to us with your question about accessing your old emails on your Mac desktop. Our great community is here to help you with your question.

Are you trying to bring your emails from your Comcast email into Mac Mail using IMAP? Here's a great article on how to Switch Your Xfinity Connect Email From POP to IMAP on Mac Mail

If you are wanting to access your Comcast email to check to see what is on our servers you can acess your Xfinity email here: Xfinity Connect.
