Don't Want Yahoo

You migrated one of my email addresses to Yahoo; and I don't like Yahoo.  I never gave Comcast authorization to do that.  Now, I want to cancel or delete that address.  Your telephone representative told me I had to do it through Yahoo.  So, I started an account there, using my Google account to sign in because my credentials for the email address did not work.  The site could not verify the address even though their chat could.  Since Comcast did this, they should delete it since deleting it is not a simple task.

@likeitisteller, I am sorry to hear that you are having trouble accessing your email with Yahoo. I would be more than happy to assist you with your request. Please send us a direct message with your full name and address.
Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:
Click "Sign In" if necessary.
Click the "Direct Messaging" icon.
Click the "Start new conversation" (pencil and paper) icon.
In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support."
As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
Press Enter to send it.

@XfinityCarolyn, Thank you for the prompt response.  Should I include the email address I want to cancel, or delete?  This problem that Comcast caused of migrating us to Yahoo unwillingly takes away the benefit of having more email addresses, especially when customers don't want Yahoo email addresses.

Once your email has been migrated it is out of the hands of Comcast; there isn't any way to get it back on to the comcast.net servers.

You can have more than one email address at yahoo.com, but it will be an @yahoo.com and not @comcast.net.

For your comcast.net email to have been migrated did you accept Yahoo's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy?

I really don't remember.  It sounds like something we do automatically.  Anyway, later today I will follow instructions to contact Yahoo to delete this email address.  Since Comcast is getting out of the email business, it looks like we have to stick with Google.

I use gmail with a third party email app [Thunderbird], but I do go to the website to make sure I'm not running out of storage.  I've been using gmail for well over 10 years and like it.
