Deleting a Comcast email address that I no longer use

I am trying to delete a comcast.net email address that I no longer use (it was hacked a few years ago) and emails are piling up in the Inbox. There is NO information on how to delete that account available to me when I log in to Xfinity. NONE. Nowhere on any tabs.

I don't think it's unreasonable to have someone from Comcast explain, in as brief and concise terms as possible, how I can quickly and easily delete a specific email address. I have not migrated to Yahoo email and have moved most of my email over to Gmail, as it is much, much easier to work with.

This problem is a perfect example of why I don't want to use Comcast email anymore.

Greetings, @user_xqel8m! I hope your week has been treating you well. Thanks so much for taking a moment out of your busy day to leave a post on our community forum about deleting your Comcast email address. You have definitely come to the right place for assistance.

This one is a little tricky to search for, but you need to go to the Privacy Center at https://www.xfinity.com/privacy and select "Privacy Policy" at the top, followed by your state. You can find more details, along with a full walkthrough, on our support site at https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/delete-private-data.

I am trying to delete a comcast.net email address ...

The simplest way I can think of disable an address is by loading https://connect.xfinity.com, navigating to (gear icon) / Email Settings / Mail / Advanced / Email Safe list. Then check the "Use email safe list" box, click "Add an email address", enter a non-working email address in the entry space (ex: "example@example.net"), and then click Add.

Any email sent to the address will be silently tossed away.

Concise term: under no circumstances open that email ever again for any reason

Eventually the inbox will fill up and anyone sending mail to it will get a bounce back message.  After a while the address will completely shut down and can no longer be accessed.  IOW, just ignore the address going forward.
