deactivate comcast email

I don't want to use Comcast email any longer. Can I delete it, or otherwise deactivate it so that any incoming emails are rejected?

I don't want to use Comcast email any longer. Can I ... deactivate it so that any incoming emails are rejected?

The simplest way I can think of to do this is by loading https://connect.xfinity.com, navigating to (gear icon) / Email Settings / Mail / Advanced / Email Safe list. Then check the "Use email safe list" box, click "Add an email address", enter a non-working email address in the entry space (ex: "example@example.net"), and then click Add.

Any email sent to your address will be silently tossed away.

It’s ridiculous that Comcast won’t let you immediately disable an email account. This workaround from Bruce is brilliant.

The only way to deactivate it is to not use it.

I read that. I just didn’t want to accumulate a year’s worth of junk emails. I use a different email address for everything else.
