Conversion to yahoo - emails now in both inbox and folders
I had 2 Comcast emails.
Using an IMAP backup program, I did a test where I backed up one of the email accounts to my computer and then migrated it to the other account that I hadn’t used.
then I did the conversion to yahoo on the account I never used but now was identical to the account I did use.
I had organized my emails into folders so that I had maybe 10 emails in the inbox.
when the conversion was done, the inbox had a copy of the emails that were in all of the folders and the folders had the same emails.
It’s a nightmare trying to fix this. If I deleted an email in the inbox it would delete it from the folder too.
I had to move emails from the inbox back to the folder and then of course there would be a duplicate in the folder which I could then delete.
has anyone run into this situation?
I am about ready to just delete everything on the yahoo account and seeing if restoring a folder at a time would make it easier to get things correct.
I am so glad that I invested a little bit of money to buy the IMAP backup software and did this testing before moving my main account to yahoo.

@user_MM21s I'm sorry to hear of the issues you're having with your folders not migrating correctly with yahoo. Our team can help. Yahoo Mail experience is different than Xfinity Email, your email settings, including filters and forwarding, will not be retained. You will need to set up your preferred experience in Yahoo Mail settings. I have a link with more details, tips about the migration, some frequently asked questions as well as a link for support. https://help.yahoo.com/kb/new-yahoo-mail/SLN36803.html
Will I keep all my folders, contacts, and messages when I move my account to Yahoo Mail?
Yes with a few exceptions: Email messages with attachments of more than 25 MB or in an unformatted format will not be moved. They will be moved to a separate folder in your Xfinity Email inbox, and you will be notified that you have 30 days to download them. Only up to 4,100 folders can be moved. Folders over 4,100 will be consolidated into a single folder. Folders with names over 240 characters will be moved; however, the folder names will be automatically truncated prior to moving. Only up to 10,000 contacts can be moved.
Any user-created folders with names matching Yahoo system folders (like “Sent” or “Drafts”) will be renamed in Yahoo Mail.
Will my email attachments move to Yahoo Mail too?
Yes, most email attachments will be moved to Yahoo Mail along with your other emails. However, email messages with attachments totaling more than 25 MB will not be moved. You’ll be notified if you have an email at risk of being deleted and have 30 days to retrieve the email.
