connect comcast email to microsoft 365

I am going to start using Microsoft 365. I have seen a notice from Microsoft that Microsoft Outlook 365 will no longer connect to external email server (like comcast.net) as of 5/20/2021. If this is true, Microsoft 365 is useless to me. Please tell me if I can connect my comcast.com email account to Microsoft Outlook 365 and link me to instructions on how to do this.

That article is referring to Microsoft's Outlook.com webmail:

"... When you add other email accounts to Outlook.com, you can use Outlook.com to send and read email messages from those accounts without leaving Outlook.com. Each account you add to Outlook.com is called a connected account. ..."

It's saying that if you have a "user @ outlook.com" webmail account you can no longer add external email accounts to it. The Outlook email program or app is not the same as Outlook.com and should continue to work with Comcast's email for the foreseeable future.
