Comcast.net email conversion to Yahoo is a bummer.

I use OE Classic to download my email to my pc.  Xfinity/Yahoo instructions for how to get this to work with Yahoo were inadequate.  It took me 3 hours of trial and error and internet searches to get it to work.  Once working I found that the basic Yahoo account does not allow automatic forwarding of emails like Xfinity/Comcast allowed.  You have to pay for a premium version of Yahoo to get auto forwarding.  The change to Yahoo email is a net negative for me.  I am not pleased with Xfinity which promised better email.  For me it is worse.

I'm not sure what you mean about automatic forwarding.  You can download your comcast.net email into OE Classic like you always did but you need to use Yahoo's mail servers.

This isn't true.  You don't need Plus to be able to forward an email.

@Again​ Try and read this more carefully. He's talking about "Automatic" forwarding. Here's the Yahoo Mail setting note regarding auto-forwarding. Add this to the other "features" that Comcast has so nicely sent us to. You can always manually forward an email, but that's not what is being discussed!

I have the same frustration.

I use one preferred email address (which is neither comcast nor Yahoo) and have always auto-forwarded my Comcast emails to my preferred email account. When I read about the migration, my plan was to also auto-forward from Yahoo! which would have been fine, until I discovered that I would need to pay to upgrade to a Yahoo Mail Plus account in order to utilize the auto-forward feature. 

Okay, so it's $5 a month to upgrade, but really???...pay another $5 per month on top of the ridiculous price that I already pay for internet service just so I can receive my payment due/processed notifications via email???  How much sense does that make?

What is Comcast/Xfinity going to do to remedy this situation?

@user_kxvlnc Thank you for sharing your frustration with this auto-forwarding fee from Yahoo. We currently don't have any information if/when we'll begin to provide any type of compensation for this charge. We'll definitely notify all of our customer if that changes in the future.

You appear to be confusing "forwarding" with "auto-forward". Perhaps https://www.google.com/search?q=auto-forwarding and https://help.yahoo.com/kb/sln36684.html will help. Since you never believe me, maybe you'll believe Yahoo:

Enable automatic email forwarding in New Yahoo Mail

Upgrade to Yahoo Mail Plus [$5/mo] to use the email forwarding feature in your Settings. Automatic forwarding sends a copy of incoming messages from your Yahoo Mail account to another email address. 

Yes, free Yahoo mail allows you to manually forward an email, but it does not allow you to auto-forward email. As stated, you have to pay extra for Mail Plus to auto-forward.
