Comcast e-mail servers auto-deleting old e-mails from Inbox after approx 6 weeks

For one of my Comcast e-mail accounts (I have three), Comcast's servers auto-delete old messages out of my Inbox after about 6 weeks.  Up until yesterday, I had messages going back to April 23rd, but those disappeared today.    I've restored deleted messages from both the Comcast webmail Trash folder, and from other archives, and after a few weeks, they disappear again.  This deletion of old e-mails appears to only happen once every few weeks -- a bunch of e-mails get deleted as a block, not one by one.  And it's only the oldest e-mails that get deleted -- all the more recent ones stay.

If I login to the Comcast webmail, the recently deleted messages aren't in the Trash folder.

I mostly connect to e-mail using my iPhone -- the standard IOS mail app -- using IMAP.

Hello @rg11  thank you for reaching out through our Forums. I see that you are missing emails. I apologize for the inconvenience this is causing. If a message is deleted less than 14 days ago it should still be in there.  If not, right-click on the Trash folder, and in the drop-down click on "Recover deleted items".  After 14 days the messages drop into that folder from Trash, and stay there another 30 days. Anything that is not in that folder will not be recoverable.

I no longer work for Comcast.

@XfinityStephanieT My problem is that e-mails are being *automatically* deleted from my *InBox*, with no action from me.  As of this week, the deletion schedule seems to be: any e-mail that is more than 14 days old is deleted.  Again, I'm not doing this -- the e-mails are sitting in my InBox, and then just disappear.  And, they aren't in the Trash folder when I login to the Comcast web app.

And, this doesn't happen on my other Comcast e-mail account -- the other Comcast e-mail account I use regularly has e-mails in the InBox which date back to Dec 2021, and they stay there until I do something with them (move or delete them manually).

Comcast systems only auto delete Emails from Trash and Spam folders. Any mail auto-deleted from other folders is a result of something outside of the Comcast system. Typically this is a third-party client (Outlook, IOS, etc), or a shared device that someone else is going through the process.

Since this seems to be triggered on a regular interval I would say check whatever third-party clients you are using.

@user_f693c0 - you have an old client "poping" off your email.  You should check the settings on your PC client.
