Comcast email has been saying it is not secure since 2020 when I first posted this. Still exactly the same in 2022.

I put this question up September 15, 2020 and it is still happening.  I am reluctant to use Comcast email because of it.  I get the same message on other computers and other smartphones when I access Comcast.  Computer is up to date, browser is up to date.  I only get the message in Comcast email.

Comcast email says it is not secure

At the top left of my email it has a triangle with an exclamation point in it and it says it is not secure.  When I click on this to view site information it says my connection to the site is not fully secure and that attackers might be able to see the images I'm looking at on this site and trick me by modifying them.  There is a hyperlink to "Learn More".  When I click on that link Google Chrome Help tells me if I have the triangle with exclamation point that is it "Not secure or Dangerous"

We suggest you don't enter any private or personal information on this page. If possible, don't use the site.

Not secure: Proceed with caution. Something is severely wrong with the privacy of this site’s connection. Someone might be able to see the information you send or get through this site.

You might see a "Login not secure" or "Payment not secure" message.

Dangerous: Avoid this site. If you see a full-page red warning screen, the site has been flagged as unsafe by Safe Browsing. Using the site will likely put your private information at risk.

It suggests I don't enter any private or personal information on this page and if possible, don't use the site.

If I refresh it will say it is secure for a few seconds, then it reverts back to Not Secure.  I am using Chrome and I get this message on all three computers in the house and also on my Android phone when I access my email.  I am very uncomfortable with this message.

@Again Since my email already says it is not secure I am reluctant to click on a link from someone I don't know.  What do you think will happen if I click on that link?

I understand your reluctance however I am an Volunteer Expert here with 16 years' experience.  I would not give a URL that would cause problems for a customer.  The link I am providing you is a secure link: https

I am hoping when you click on that link that you won't see the error message you were getting.

Your other alternative is to try a different browser.  Chrome doesn't always play nicely with things Comcast/Xfinity.

I clicked on the link and have been online for about an hour and I am not getting the message saying it is not secure....yet.  Do I have to follow the link in this post every time?  How can I change the way my computer usually accesses Comcast to the one in your link?  Thank you!

I'm glad that worked for you!  You can just save the URL to your bookmarks and then use that.  Good luck and Happy Autumn!

Hmmm.  I keep getting the "not secure" message.  I only seem to avoid it if I have my email open and click on your link and open a new tab.  I saved the new tab as a bookmark in Chrome but when I use that bookmark it changes to "not secure" again.

I get the Not secure notice on my PC, both of my laptops and my cell phone.  I get it on my work laptop if I access my email and my work phone as well.

Let's check some settings in Chrome which may help.

  • In Chrome click on the three dots at the top right of your browser.
  • Scroll down and choose Settings
  • Under Settings choose Privacy and Security
  • In the right pane choose Security
  • If Enhanced is checked click on Standard
  • Scroll down to Advanced
  • If Always use secure connections is blue on the right, click on that so it turns grey.

Close out your browser and then restart it.

I gave her the link for that.  It worked, and she saved the link, but when she clicked on it again, it gave her the insecure message again.  So, I thought maybe it was a problem with her settings in Chrome.
