Can't send e-mail

I received the following error message and have no idea what to do:

The mail server sent an incorrect greeting:  resomta-ch2-12v.sys.comcast.net resomta-ch2-12v.sys.comcast.net Excessive failed authentication, ESMTP server temporarily not available.

Last week when I received this message I uninstalled my anti-virus program and that worked.  Not running any anti-virus program now yet received the error message again this week.  Can't send e-mail. All of my SMTP settings and passwords are correct.

That phrase usually means that you have a program, app, or device that is trying to send mail using an invalid UserID/password. If @ComcastSPAAbuse or another employee doesn't reply to your message here, Comcast Security Assurance should be able to help. You can reach them at 1-888-565-4329 (from https://internetsecurity.xfinity.com/help/report-abuse/). Note that this is NOT one of the general customer service numbers.

The first-line reps there are sometimes not very helpful, so you may need to be persistent and keep at them until you get a satisfactory answer.

I've changed all of my passwords and double checked all of my SMTP info and everything is correct.  Besides that, I don't even know where to start to try to fix this, but I really need to send some e-mails.  Thinking of switching e-mail clients. Currently use Thunderbird.

Same here. I use Apple Mail and I have 2 email accounts (Comcast + Gmail). Most outgoing emails get stuck in Outbox. Both accounts go constantly offline. The online status states: "imap.gmail.com" on the defaults ports timed out".

I uninstalled-reinstalled both account at least 20 times. I tried a different client email (Spark). Exact same result.

If I'm lucky, I can make 1 email go (not 2), by closing and reopening Mail. Usually by closing/opening Mail 15 times in a row, I can make 2or 3 emails go.

This is 2 business email account. It is very, very frustrating.

I tried everything I could.

I keep getting that same response from this forum and it is not helping me.  Maybe this means something?
