Can’t get signed into email on old account

I am a current subscriber but under a new account. This question is specifically referencing an old account.

we closed an xfinity account at our old address when we moved four months ago. All of a sudden tonight at midnight my email program started popping up an incorrect password for imap account alert. I tried to sign in via the website and it wants me to reset my password. I try to reset my password and it wants me to connect to my home wifi. Since the email address is from my old account, I assume it wants my old WiFi, which does not exist. So I can’t login to reset my password, and I can’t reset my password to get logged in.

The fact that this started happening makes me wonder if my email address was purged. I definitely logged in on the website within 90 days after the xfinity account at my old address was closed because I was trying to purge a bunch of old emails and it was easier to do on the website. I got no warnings from xfinity/comcast warning me that my account would be purged - the email address is like 20+ years old. My entire life is in there. I would’ve taken steps.

what do I do? Does it sound like my email address has been deactivated? Can I get it back?

@Misskaterina

Is this still happening?  Are you able to log in to your comcast.net account at Yahoo? https://login.yahoo.com or https://mail.yahoo.com

@Misskaterina

Thanks for reaching out to us. We do apologize for any inconvenience. If it hasn't been more than 12 months since you last logged into your e-mail, I would recommend reaching out to our customer security assurance team at 1-888-565-4329.

Our awesome customer security assurance team would be able to assist you in resetting your password on the closed Xfinity account
