Cannot setup Comcast email on Outlook app with new Samsung S25 (Android)

My non-comcast email works just fine, but the Comcast.net email account does not work at all within the Outlook app.  The password is correct, and yes I already reinstalled the Outlook app.  The settings are what is listed on the outlook setup page, however, they don't give you an option of choosing SSL or TLS, it's just a combination.

- Incoming Mail Server: imap.comcast.net (Port 993, SSL/TLS enabled)
- Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.comcast.net (Port 587, SSL/TLS enabled)

It spins for a while and then says "unable to login".  It works within the Android browser, and it works on my desktop computer.

@bigblockelectra Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums. Just to clarify, are you following the directions listed here? You also want to make sure that you have enabled third party email access. This link will provide the directions on how to do so. Please let me know if this helps or if you need assistance with further troubleshooting.

Yes, I have 3rd part access enabled.  Comcast email works on my desktop Outlook.  It does not work on my Samsung S25 Outlook app.  Those instructions are for windows, but the information is the same.  I am attempting to setup using IMAP, not POP.

I can clarify, I was attempting IMAP setup, not POP.  It does not work.  The settings match what is listed on the xfinity outlook setup webpage but it still does not work.

Was this issue resolved for bigblockelectra? I am having the same issue on a new Galaxy S25. I have my desktop Outlook connecting using POP3. The S25 will not connect with POP3 or IMAP.

Not only was it not solved, they told me it's Microsoft's problem even though it only happens with comcast email addresses.

Yes, nothing has changed.  It does not work and my other email account does.

bigblockelectra It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:
  1. Enable Third-Party Access: Ensure that third-party access is enabled for your Comcast email account. This setting can sometimes block apps like Outlook from accessing your email.

  2. Check Security Settings: Verify that your security settings allow access from less secure apps. Sometimes, email providers block access from apps that don't meet their security criteria.

  3. App-Specific Password: Create an app-specific password for your Comcast email. This can sometimes resolve login issues with third-party apps.

  4. Manual Setup: Try setting up your email manually in the Outlook app. Go to the account settings and enter the server details manually:

    • Incoming Mail Server: imap.comcast.net (Port 993, SSL/TLS enabled)
    • Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.comcast.net (Port 587, SSL/TLS enabled)
  5. Clear Cache: Clear the cache of the Outlook app. Go to Settings > Apps > Outlook > Storage > Clear Cache.

  6. Update Firmware: Ensure your Samsung S25 has the latest firmware updates. Sometimes, outdated firmware can cause compatibility issues.

I have tried all of these things, and it does not work.  ....."Unable to login".  Are you able to see bad login attempts on the xfinity side?
