Cannot send e-mail. ESMTP server temporarily unavailble error
All of a sudden today I'm getting the following error message when trying to send an e-mail via Thunderbird:
resomta-a1p-077245.sys.comcast.net resomta-a1p-077245.sys.comcast.net Excessive failed authentication, ESMTP server temporarily not available.
I have seen this issue in the forums, but never a solution. I have no other devices that are connected to this e-mail account. I only use my desktop for sending/receiving e-mails through Comcast. I can receive e-mails with no problems, just cannot send them. All was fine until this afternoon.

Thanks for your response, but as I said in my original post, I do not have any other devices that use the Comcast e-mail servers. I only access e-mails using Thunderbird on my desktop. I have done this for many, many years and never had a problem, but today the issue arose.

I see nothing there relevant to SMTP "Excessive failed authentication". Do you?

No, there was no information in there about the problem I'm having, which is still ongoing. Everyday I get the same message until the evening when I'm able to send e-mails again. Seems like it's overnight or early in the morning when the excessive login failures occur. Since it's not any of my devices that could be doing it, I'm guessing someone is trying to hack the account, perhaps even spoofing my IP address. Hopefully they'll eventually give up, but until then I guess I'm forced to use the webmail system.
