Cannot reply to emails now
I have no idea what caused this to happen, but randomly a couple hours ago my email account stopped being able to respond to emails on my computer. When I click reply, it just hangs at the loading screen for several minutes and then says "The connection to remote server imap-central.ge.xfinity.com timed out while awaiting the response. Please try again later." and exits out. I need to be able to respond to emails for work and this is incredibly frustrating to be happening right now. I have never had this happen before, and even sent some emails out earlier today before it started doing this. I can reply to them on my phone but it takes way longer and I have attachments on my computer that I need to send.

I don't know either, but Webmail is giving me this: "Error - The certificate for domain 'imap-east.ge.xfinity.com' is untrusted" in Firefox.
And it's flaking out with some of the other messages posted in this thread as well.

Thanks, BruceW. Didn't know that. Though it seems kind of dumb to work that way.
Comcast monitors these boards. It would be helpful if an official Comcast employee acknowledged that they're aware of this issue and are working on it!

Same issue here, using Chrome browser with webmail. Earlier today, I could not reply at all to another email. Got multiple messages that the server was not available. Just now when I replied to another, I got the message: "The certificate for domain 'imap-central.ge.xfinity.com' is untrusted." Not sure if my reply was received.
I also see that my spam folder, when it will load, contains multiple emails from safe senders... again, which I first noticed a few days ago.

Just spoke with rep. He does not see any issues on his side so has escalated. I receive timeout error/untrusted certificate error consistently.

Same issue here. Email having difficulty loading or not loading at all. I have very important emails in there and hope they are safe.

All----------
I just tried using Firefox, and when I clicked on "Compose" I got the same message everyone else is reporting. However, if I click on the X to get out of the error, and then click on "Compose" again it seems to work OK. I sent emails to accounts I have at Yahoo, Outlook.com and Gmail and they all got through.
That said, I have Comcast accounts in both Florida and Michigan. Right now I'm in Michigan, and if I try to send an email using the webmail for the account here, I get the error every time. I have the primary and two secondaries at the Florida service address. Using the primary and one of the secondaries I am unable to generate the error message. It just works as it should. If I use the other secondary I get the error every time I click on "Compose".
I am going to escalate this to the forum admins and see if we can get some traction on the issue.

Appreciate it, Latoque. I have been having a little more success over the past 30 minutes or so, but still having issues. Hopefully that means they're working on it. And with your info and escalation, hopefully this will be resolved soon.

Okay, I'm not all that tech savvy, but I should have tried this before.
When I turn off my Comcast wifi and turn on 4G LTE data on my phone, I have no problems with emails. No time outs. Can access all folders and messages. Can send and receive messages, etc. Granted, I only tested for 10 mins, but there's definitely a difference.
I've rebooted my Gateway. Didn't make a difference.
Just my 2 cents...

Unfortunately for me, even with an escalted 'fix', the email errors remain and system is nonfunctional. Trying to find a rep again. Not remotely customer oriented in getting through to a human anymore.

Sorry to hear that, user_898721. So far this morning everything is working for me. Hopefully it stays that way. Hope they get you back up and running soon!
