Cannot access Comcast email thru Windows Mail app using a VPN

Hi,

Using Norton here, turned on the VPN today & the Windows Mail app quit receiving email from Comcast. Turned the VPN off & Comcast email began to work in the Windows Mail app again. Found threads stating the following.

Many email providers will block access when you use a VPN because they see that someone is trying to access your account from a location that is not expected for that account. They are just protecting your Account. For now, all you can do is turn off the VPN when you need to access your email.

Does this sound like what is happening to me? Does anyone know of a work-around? Other than shutting the VPN down.

Thank you

Yes it does, and no, there isn't, unless your VPN allows you to specify that your email program should bypass the VPN.

VPN's have lots of legitimate uses, but they are also a magnet for spammers and scammers whose activities "poison" the VPN's IPs. Sending email using a VPN is likely to always be iffy. See the Employee post at https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/email/some-email-not-being-sentintended-recipient-does-not-see-the-email/611d7226bfcc4a43b941e659?commentId=61b77bf7f06968168603713c for more details.
