cancelling an old email

I am currently an xfinity internet subscriber. I also have an old email address from a previous subscription that I am no longer using. I would like my old email to be cancelled. The problem is, if I login to my old email it resets the 9 month inactivity period. I want the email cancelled immediately so that senders realize that account is no longer being utilized. The 9 month period is too long for me to wait while emails to my old address are being ignored. Please help me to cancel my old email address today.

Please send us a direct chat message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forum's page.

Here are the detailed steps to direct message us:

• Click "Sign In" if necessary

• Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "to" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list

• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

• Press Enter to send your message
