Billing Dispute: Unauthorized Plan Upgrade Sent to Collections.
I am writing to request an escalation regarding an unauthorized plan upgrade and a wrongful collections action with IC System.
Background:
I was a long-term customer on the Internet Essentials plan ($29.95/month). For reasons unknown, my plan was unilaterally upgraded to the 'Connect' tier and recieved a bill of ($66.95/month) without my consent.
Efforts to Resolve:
I contacted customer support and the finance department multiple times to correct the billing error and return to my original $29.95 rate.
I offered to pay the authorized amount, but the corrections were never made.
Due to the unresolved error, I disconnected the service and returned all equipment (I have the receipt).
Current Issue:
Despite the active dispute, Xfinity has sent the incorrect balance to IC System collections, which is now appearing as a derogatory mark on my credit report. I have already begun the process of filing a formal Notice of Dispute and a complaint with the Connecticut Department of Banking.
Requested Resolution: I would like an Official Employee to review my account history, recall the debt from collections, and correct the final balance to the authorized $29.95 rate.
I am ready to provide my account details and service address via Direct Message as soon as a moderator responds.
