Adding Comcast Email to Mac Mail
I've seen an older, very long thread about this issue, and apparently it's still an issue. I've been using Mac Mail for Comcast emails for years without any problems. This worked fine on an older iMac. Now I'm trying to set up my Comcast email on a newer iMac, and I can't. It's not recognizing my email address or password. I've always had the box to allow access to third party programs checked. Xfinity, what is the point of this option if it doesn't freaking work?
I am not going to risk deleting and then adding back my Comcast email, because some posters stated that they couldn't add it back after deleting it. Xfinity should allow customers to make decisions about how to handle their own email and software. Please tell me how to fix this.

Join the club. My MacBook Pro email syncs with the server but my new iPad and iPhone do not. It seems that iOS 26 doesn’t have the choice of pop 3 or imap. I’m guessing that Mac OS Tahoe doesn’t either. I posted for help here yesterday and haven’t gotten a response yet. I’m calling Apple Care this week hoping I can get help from them. Not sure if I can reach an English speaking Comcast tech to assist. Did you transfer your files from an iCloud backup? Didn’t the email settings download with everything else?
my mail setting were fixed with help of advanced support from XFINITY

@mtngigi thanks for taking the time to post our Xfinity Community Forums page. Have you tested your password on our webmail page recently to ensure you can access email with it?

This is very frustrating- I can only see the first comment and the last one- I am having the same problem. I just bought a brand new Mac book Pro, on Tahoe. I can't add my Comcast email to the mac mail. It continues to say it can't verify my user name and password- but they work fine on a web browser and my Iphone 14. Does this have anything do with migrating to Yahoo?

Do you not read the posts? I posted a screenshot of the third party option which I've always had checked off, asking what the point was of checking it off when I doesn't ensure anything. And my account has been set to imap forever. Next suggestion?

You folks keep giving me badges, like that's going help. I need solutions that work. I still cannot add my Comcast email to my new computer. I cannot send emails through Mac Mail on my old computer. And all I get are badges - to quote an old movie, "I don't need no badges", I just need my email program/comcast email to work together.
