Not receiving emails

I posted about this 3-4 weeks ago, never got an answer and now I can't even find that thread.

Why are some emails NOT being delivered?  Why is my spam folder suddenly EMPTY (for over a month) when it used to fill up almost daily?

1st instance - I was expecting an email from a retailer and it never showed up.  Checked spam folder and it was EMPTY.  Had retailer re-send email and it NEVER showed up.  Checked spam folder again and it was EMPTY again. NEVER got that email

2nd instance today.  Signed up with a automobile forum to ask about and research problems/repair with car.  They said confirmation email would be sent to my email address within 5-10 minutes.  It's been an hour and it NEVER showed up.  Checked the spam folder and it is still EMPTY.

Why is Comcast messing with peoples email?  Why does a spam folder which used to receive 5-10-20 spam emails per day suddenly dry up?

Makes me wonder what other email is missing.  WHERE IS MY EMAIL?

@gastan apologies for the delay in response. As mentioned in another thread you posted in, you may want to verify with the email administrator for the domains you are experiencing issues with to see what they can verify on their sending side. I've checked our server logs and there haven't been any transactions marked as spam being sent to you. Even if the flag for spam email was there and it was dropped/deleted by the server - i would be able to see it. But the logs are not there - meaning that the interaction never took place. Emails sent to our server will always create a log for the interaction - its how email works. If that interaction doesn't exist - the email never got to our server.

So to re-visit - bio-cleanproducts.com was the domain you reported seeing issues with. I confirmed it is able to send to comcast.net and is not being blocked/filtered. If you have confirmation from bio-cleanproducts.com that they sent you an email and you didnt receive it and i dont see the server log, then the sending domain needs to check their server to see what happened to the email sent via their own server logs.

The issue with the forum you mention is new, can you please PM me the domain name that email should come in under and i can check the server for any interactions from that domain as well.

The only other thing that could possibly cause a lack of spam from retailers for example could be that their Email Service Provider was notified that you no longer wished to receive their emails and they placed you onto a supression list to prevent you from getting any other emails. Which depending on the retailer and types of emails i can investigate as well and see if i can remove the supression or in some instances if you talk to the sender and/or their mail administrator, they can sometimes process that request as well.

To also clarify, contrary to what it might seem ,we dont target individual mailboxes or accounts - Comcast does filtration/blocking as a whole. If we for example block 1 domain - its blocked for all comcast.net users. Same applies for spam filtration. If we mark someone as spam - its spam for everyone, not select individuals. So if a domain has sent emails to multiple other users on comcast.net - then there should be no issue reaching you specifically as an example.

I see what's going on. You need to click the photo icon > click on "Public (gastan) > click on an image. Jeez - - what a convoluted PIA.

Okay, that didn't work.  I included a screen shot of the email response but it shows up as nothing.  I'll try one more time and if it still doesn't work I'll simply copy and paste.

Thanks for the reply ... and I think it was very timely.

I emailed the forum admins of the problem and asked them if they could send the confirmation email to my alternate email address, the one I use for throw away websites - - places that will be a one-off used only once; places that I suspect will overload me with spammy emails etc..

To my surprise they emailed me back at the comcast.net address and said that based on that email that they had completed the registration process as if I had answered the confirmation email. My surprise was that I got it. Why did it come thru but the confirmation one - the first one - did not?  It still hasn't shown up anywhere.

I've reviewed the image.
Audizine.com is hitting SMTP error 550:
http://postmaster.comcast.net/smtp-error-codes.php#550

over 95% of their emails sent to us in the last 15 days have encountered the 550 error code. This means they are sending to invalid recipients on our server and should audit their mailing lists. The few emails that did get through is ones from the admin of the domain directly. The admin may want to review their automated delivery system. Server logs show it to be a "Mailgun" system and is likely misconfigured.
