Xfinity's FREE phone scam!

This bunch is absolutely unbelievable.

After having tons of problems with my Wi-Fi service they told me that they want to send me a free moto G5 phone to make up for it and there would be no strings attached.  I asked seven representatives in every way I possibly could what the catch might be and they all insisted that it was a good will gesture.

They offered this phone, that I did not pick out myself, I assume that they probably had a bunch of them laying around for promotion, and I finally agreed that if it was completely free I would accept it.

My bill went from $17.93 to $90 + $45 plus another $290 plus $159 Plus $16 before I could even blink.

They are nothing but a bunch of liars.

Just trying to return the [Edited: "Language"] phone that they sent they tried to charge me a restocking fee!

I wouldn't trust this company to wash my socks.

I have been scammed by xfinity promising a 10 dollar internet if i sighn up for free phone. the phone was not free and my bill went to $60. I spent 5 hours on phone and chat. They just keep transferring me. This company needt to be investigated by the goverment and shut down.

I do not understand why they feel the need to fashion their sales techniques after Mr. Hainey, the Snake Oil Salesman of the 1960's TV Show, Green Acres.  Yet they continue to bait and switch and even come right out and LIE!  I assume that they think we are all too stupid to know when we've been scammed.

something similar just happened to me. Getting a human on the phone is ridiculous, I've been on the phone 20 minutes waiting for their email to come through. i cannot believe how horrible the service is and that they LIE over and over again. I am going to cancel the whole service shortly due to this and I've been a customer for 16 years.

I had the same exact issue. I reached out about my internet bill. They said they could upgrade my service and then give me a free phone and line… a few days later I received the phone that was not free. When I reached out to check on my internet they never changed anything! Then they tried to give me a “free” iPad. I ended up going into the store explained everything. They were confused about the free phone because there were currently no promos for a free phone and they confirmed my internet was never upgraded or touched. Also the free line was because I was on a gen 3 plan where it was 3 for $100 when now it’s 3 for $80 and 4 for $100.  No one wanted to tell me this and instead try to give me a “free” 4th line. Thankfully the store employees fixed that. I returned that phone which was a whole process with nothing working correctly and they couldnt get the shipping label to go through and I had to come back to the store like 3 times. Finally I return the “free” phone and they tired to charge a restocking fee of $35. Went back to the store and the employee there gave me a credit to cover that nonsense. Apparently the only honest ppl there work in the stores. The call center and chat reps just scam people and are probably the scammers that xfinity claim are not part of their company.
