Xfinity promised a free phone for the first 3 months and can be returned anytime if I don't like it. But it is not!

I was lured into a call several hours long with an Xfinity agent and he was trying to sell me a Pixel 8 phone that will be completely free for the first 3 months and I can return it anytime, he said.

But it turns out I was paying for it from the first month. And when I want to return it, the customer service told me that the window to return is 14 days. So there was no way that I could return this phone. And I have to keep paying for it. I pay 29+ dollars each month and will pay 700 in total for the phone cost.

This is completely insane and unfair. And it makes customers very helpless. I don't need this phone and I never use this phone to be honest. But I am paying 700 dollars for it. How can that be?

And let me tell you that this is not the first time that similar things happen for Xfinity. About 2 years old, when I just joined Xfinity, I was also promised one thing, and got another one. It is time-consuming for me, but turns out I was just falsely promised and I got nothing in the end.
